KLAMBT Media Group takes over eight magazine titles from the FUNKE Media Group

The KLAMBT media group is acquiring the magazine titles die aktuelle, die aktuelle KRIMI, FRAU IM SPIEGEL, FRAU IM SPIEGEL Royal, NEUE WELT, DAS GOLDENE BLATT, ECHO DER FRAU and frau aktuell from the FUNKE media group.

With this takeover, the KLAMBT media group is sharpening its profile as one of the leading media houses in the field of consumer magazines. The transaction is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities. The partners have agreed not to disclose the contractual details.

FUNKE Mediengruppe is selling the portfolio of entertaining women's magazines as part of its strategic realignment, which aims to strengthen its brand positioning and digitize its existing portfolio.

Julia Becker, publisher and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of FUNKE Mediengruppe, says: "Our thanks as a publishing family go to all the employees who have made these magazines the most successful brands in their segment over decades with passion and a feel for the needs of readers. They have also made a significant economic contribution to the success and development of FUNKE. We know the KLAMBT team as a long-standing partner of our media group and are convinced that our brands - and above all our colleagues - are in very good hands with KLAMBT and will continue their success there."

Kai and Lars Joachim Rose, publishers of the KLAMBT media group, confirm: "With the purchase of the eight magazines, we are consistently continuing our publishing commitment to the German-language consumer magazine market.

Around 90 employees at the Ismaning site will transfer to KLAMBT, while the remaining employees will continue to be part of FUNKE. All employees of the aforementioned magazines will be able to continue their work at the Ismaning site.

Jochen Beckmann, who heads the FUNKE Medien National Brands division together with Jesper Doub, says: "Seeing our entertaining women's magazines now in a brand world with the magazines from KLAMBT is a very good basis for continuing their decades of success."

The eight magazine titles have a combined paid circulation of over 600,000 copies and reach around 3.4 million readers every week. Jesper Doub: "Our transformation in the magazine segment is only just beginning. As part of the realignment of the product portfolio, we are delighted to have found such a good partner in KLAMBT. It is important to us that the employees there can continue their work successfully."
