Speyer, 10 June 2026: Dr. Gerd Joachim Rose, Managing Director and publisher of Klambt-Verlag, today's KLAMBT media group, for decades, passed away last Saturday in Speyer at the age of 87 after a short, serious illness surrounded by his family.
He began his active career for Klambt in Speyer in 1965 and was appointed Managing Director in 1970. Until the end of his term of office in 2003, he modernized the publishing house from the ground up. For example, he was the driving force behind the conversion of the press distribution business towards individual distribution, the restructuring of the insurance business and the development of the radio holdings, which still represent a growing segment in the subsidiary Klambt-Medien GmbH today. He was also an early promoter of the publishing house's investments in press wholesalers in Frankenthal, Hamburg, Berlin and the eastern wholesalers.
From 2003 to 2018, he held the position of Chairman of the Shareholders' Meeting within the group of shareholders, through which he played a decisive role in shaping the positive development of the media group.
The management, employees and shareholders of the KLAMBT media group are losing an always optimistic, passionate and social entrepreneur who played a major role in the history of the Klambt media group, which has lasted over 180 years.
